Your Best Year Yet : Jinny Ditzler

This summer I took it as part of my holiday reading . It uses your values and your roles as a way to set goals. This seems to be a much better way to get at what you want rather than what you think you want. I worked through the process and I feel that I have chosen goals that I will achieve. They tie in pretty well with the ones in my own method but I like the structure that results from Best Year Yet. More

The words that people use tell you a lot about their personality. This book helps you learn how to interpret these cues and you can then tailor your message to the way that they experience the world. The ideas in the book are drawn from the work on Meta programs developed by the originators of NLP. More

The EMyth Revisited : Michael Gerber

This book was a revelation to me and got to the core of why I initially had difficulties. I was trying to make a job rather than a business. I needed to be a technician, a manager and an entrepreneur. The book takes you through looking at your business as though you are selling it as a franchise. There are many other Emyth books but this is the original and best. More

Persuasion Engineering : Richard Bandler

Best book on sales and selling I have ever read. You will either love it or hate it. The key to loving it is to read it like a collection of stories rather than as a text book and to read it twice.My attitude to selling totally changed, I now think of selling as finding out exactly what my customer wants and then giving it to them. More

As the Pendulum Swings : Lindsay A. Brady

This is the autobiography of a hypnotist who has been working for over 30 years, mainly in therapeutic work but also in entertainment. He has always been keen to learn about why it works and how the process can be improved. He now calls himself a perceptionist as he believes that hypnotism is all about changing perception. A great book for understanding how the mind works and how to make changes. More

Small in the new big : Seth Godin

I love Seth's books, he has an incredible energy and excitement about everything he does. This is an amazing book on so many levels. It contains lots of great marketing ideas, but also many things that will set you thinking laterally. I recommend reading a couple of pieces at a time, as they sink in you will be surprised at all the other stuff that pops into your head.

How do some people make really good decisions instantly? Why are fast decisions by experts usually better than those they make when given lots of time. How do you catch a falling ball without knowing anything about parabolic flight equations?
