How buying a plant helped my business recover after the last recession

Your inner consultant is that part of you that, on a good day, allows you to be pretty smart. Some days everything seems to go really well. You know just what to do and life flows along easily.
There are other days when you seem like a different person. You stay stuck in the same loop and are unable to create a new approach to any situation.
Let me give you a couple of examples.

Imagine business is going reasonably well, each day you make it that bit better, new ideas occur to you to improve things for your customers and to have a better life for you and the people that work with you. You think creatively and enjoy what you are doing. You have days when time just seems to zoom by as you are so involved in what you are doing. Your inner consultant is working for you, coming up with ideas whenever you need them.

One day something changes, an unexpected cost, customers leave or something happens in the bigger world that seems to threaten your business. You may become so focused on the change that you become a different person, not the smart one that was coming up with creative ideas but someone obsessed with only one thing. The change does need some of your attention, but does it need all of it? If you carry on this way then all the things that were going so well could suffer.
Imagine another time, things are not going too well, you don't have enough customers, your bank balance is low and your business does not look good. One day something changes, perhaps an unexpected order. You start to relax and things improve, your inner consultant starts working for you again and you realise a weird thing. Even if the change hadn't happened you would probably have been OK, you could have got some new customers; it was just the way you were thinking that was holding you back.
Finding your inner consultant is about how to get that best part of you working more frequently. In business as in life generally it is not what happens to you that usually decides how things turn out but the way that you perceive changes. The things that you will learn here are based on the lessons I have learned running my own business for over 20 years. This includes the hard lessons that I learned when keeping my business in the last recession. I have been on many training courses in order to build my skills and to learn about motivation and communication, this and my training as an NLP practitioner has helped me to share these ideas.
I’ll give you an idea of my approach.
Have you ever looked at another business that is totally different to yours and asked “what lessons can I learn from their success? How do they get their customers? How do they give them something extra that keeps them coming back?” Don't think too much about the details of what they do, just wonder about the process, how does it work? To get the best out of this I suggest you forget about your business for now and concentrate instead on what is great about their business and figure out ways that it could be improved even further. After doing this for a while you will probably think of something that would work in your business. It is all about getting out of your way so that you can think creatively.

The best way to learn how this can help your business is to listen to the Audio Book. I think you will find it an effective way to find out how you feel about my ideas on the inner consultant. Your business will run so much better when you are on top form and using your inner consultant. Listen now.
